Former Chairman of Coalition of Asian Pacific Americans of Virginia (CAPAVA)
Former President of Federal Asian Pacific American Council (FAPAC)
Former President of Asian Pacific American Chamber of Commerce (APACC)

As both a Vietnam War-era veteran and a 35 year veteran of the US government civil service, I
have been well suited to help our APA communities engage with the government and serve as a
go-between for military veterans and governmental leaders. Before I retired from federal service,
I last served as a Senior Adviser on Minority Veterans appointed by Veterans Affairs Secretary
General Eric Shinseki. Also served as President 2001-2003 as President of Federal Asian
Pacific American Council (FAPAC). Currently, I serve as Chairman of the Asian Pacific
American Veterans Association (APAVA), and we are developing and implementing voting
rights programs to work together with the Asian Pacific American (APA) Chamber of Commerce.
Also as President of the Coalition of Asian Pacific Americans of Virginia( CAPAVA) care deeply
about our Association’s mission to help our APA community to work with and integrate into the
American community. We are developing partnerships, expanding our role in the community,
but most importantly, will continue to prioritize:
1. register APA voters, make more affordable housing, advocate veterans’ health reform,
promote 2020 U.S. Census.
2. continue to follow-up to our visit with the congressional leaders requesting that House
Representatives to cosponsor HR 2358 after the Senate passed S. 1050 for the award of the
Congressional Gold Medal to Chinese American Veterans of WWII.
3. better integration of Asian Pacific American (APA) and APA small businesses into the
government contracting market. All this we hope will contribute to greater fiscal well being within
the APA veterans and greater APA community.
