BIOGRAPHY

Sasha Taylor founded SK Sultana LLC, a boutique legislative advisory and capacity-building consultancy. Ms. Taylor is the leading authority in the United States on honor violence-based violence, child and forced marriage, trafficking, and visa exploitation in the refugee and immigrant communities.

Ms. Taylor is also a legislative policy advisor to Congress and a capacity builder aiding governments, non-profits, and the private sector. Ms. Taylor brings over a decade of experience from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in the Counterterrorism, Counterproliferation, and Weapons of Mass Destruction Directorates. Ms. Taylor has experience in investigations, operations, program management, and policy levels in addressing, auditing, amending, and amplifying antiquated laws, and gaps at the state and federal levels.

Ms. Taylor is also a lived experience expert as a child marriage survivor forced into an unwanted engagement, a forced legal marriage for visa acquisition, and a forced religious marriage at age 15.

Ms. Taylor serves on the Office of New Americans Advisory Board for the State of Virginia and as chair of the Access to Services committee. Ms. Taylor has also drafted a policy recommendation to add a legal statute enshrining “Honor Violence” as an illegal act of violence in Virginia, the first of its kind in the United States.

Ms. Taylor also serves on the Policy and Legislative subcommittee for the Regional Interdisciplinary Collaborative (The RIC) – a region-wide collaboration for ending human trafficking and supporting survivors in the states of Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, and Washington, D.C.

Ms. Taylor is a Survivor Advisor on the Board of the Virginia Coalition Against Human Trafficking. Ms. Taylor is a member of the FBI Association of Intelligence Analysts (FBI AIA).
